Annual Reports

Oak CYAC is a welcoming, child-friendly environment where children and youth who have experienced abuse, sexual assault, or witnessed a crime can share their story with police or social workers. At Oak CYAC, the police officers and social workers are specially trained to listen to children.

The staff at Oak CYAC, including our Child and Youth Service Coordinators (or Advocates), work with several agencies to make sure your child’s experience is as comfortable as possible, and that your child and you are supported throughout the interview process and on an ongoing basis.

The BC Network of Child and Youth Advocacy Centres continues to evolve, and so does the impact this service model has on children and youth in British Columbia. In 2022-23 we collected data from eight centres including surveys from the multi-disciplinary teams and prepared a report to highlight the great work happening across the province.
